Textiles for a digital age
TexSquare has embraced the current world climate and grasped the use of technology with both hands by implementing a digital approach in the provision of textiles for viewing, choosing and requesting samples.
Whilst going digital in the world of textiles for TexSquare was prompted by the pandemic, it also reflects our awareness and on-going desire to operate our business in an environmentally sustainable way.
Now in the swing of providing our clients with easy-to-use tools to access fabric ranges, specifications and specialty mills online, we’re wondering why we didn’t think of it earlier?! The best part of it is you get to see samples that you are interested in quicker than ever. When a new fabric is available there is no lag time, you can see it digitally and add it to your range in record time.
What does ‘going digital’ actually mean for TexSquare?

Well, I’m glad you asked...it means we specially curate a range of suppliers and their fabrics just for you and make it available online via a private link on our website.
We’re calling it ‘My Suitcase’ and you’ll have direct access to everything you need all in one place. You can unpack it, search and view fabrics, request samples and see your orders all in one easy-to-use location. Let’s say you are looking for a herringbone finish in a specific colour, you will be able to open your suitcase and have a look at the images of the fabrics, check out the specifications and request a sample.
It’s that simple and within no time you will have that sample in your hands to feel, see, smell, show to a client, add to a mood board order and bring that vision to life. You may even come across that new cutting-edge fabric texture or print before anyone else and showcase it in your project and become the trendsetter.
This also means you will have access to ranges as they become available hot off the press from the mill rather than waiting for the next show or for someone to show you in person. What would ordinarily take twelve months, is out to you within weeks after the first trial comes off the loom. Any new technology, colour trends, weaves, or designs are accessible to you pronto.
With all the new technologies and innovations arising, having access to this could be the difference between you getting that project or new client across the line with a new and fabulous fabric ready for you to share.
There are so many positives for going digital, including sustainability, you don’t end up with a plethora of excess fabrics that aren’t on your radar or potentially a range that you would never use for one reason or another. It’s easy to fill a room with samples unnecessarily and potentially not even look at them at all. It's much easier to have access to the fabrics that you want if and when you need them.
The impact of couriering out thousands of fabric hangers and sample books across the world contributes to our carbon footprint. It’s also easy to overlook the waste generated from samples that go unused, are discarded and end up in landfill. We believe it’s time to consider just ordering what you need, when you need it and not have excess samples laying around.
When faced with adversity innovation rises. At TexSquare, we love a challenge and have embraced going digital, still giving our clients the best service and access to suppliers and fabrics ranges far wider than ever. As much as we want to see you face to face once again, this is part of the new norm that we are embracing and are looking forward to surprising you with what we have to offer. Stay tuned for what’s to come from us to you.
